story of WORK VINEYARD
The Work Vineyard story is one of great pride. For 50 years, Work Vineyard has proudly carried a vision and passion to create extraordinary wine using the finest fruits grown in the heart of Napa Valley. Pay close attention to catch the brand's original 1976 orange road-sign, an homage to the brand's long and storied history.

Work Vineyard made its fruitful debut in 1976 as a single-estate Sauvignon Blanc vineyard planted by the Work Family. Focused on perfecting their vineyard and winemaking techniques, they achieved a very acclaimed Estate wine that won numerous awards and that’s still remembered by wine lovers. Sam and Lamya Malhotra were good friends with the Work’s, acquiring the vineyard from them in 2007 and turning it into a single vineyard planted with Cabernet Sauvignon. And that’s how the story of “Lamya’s Cabernet Sauvignon” started.
Today, the Work Vineyard legacy is under the distinct care and guidance of Lamya Malhotra. Bright-eyed and full of heart, Lamya’s personal connection for wine has come full circle from her childhood days where Lamya's grandfather maintained an underground wine cellar in Iraq. As a little girl, Lamya's grandfather would show her the eerie and natural cave-like vaults, where winemaking was arguably less about measured results and more about feeling.

Behind every well crafted bottle of wine is an equally talented winemaker. In 2023, Julieta de la Cuadra took over the helm of winemaking from Kari Auringer who oversaw winemaking from 2016 - 2022, bringing our legacy to new heights. Growing up in Mendoza, Argentina, Julieta brings a fresh and vibrant perspective to the Work Vineyard team. Graduating with a BA in Enology & Food Science and a Master’s in Quality Control, Julieta gained experience internationally before settling in Napa Valley under the mentorship of Russell Bevan.
Julieta warrants in every harvest a masterful and artisanal care.
